I can’t say enough good things about this organization. My brother and I were overwhelmed trying to clean out my mom’s house following her very unexpected death. Our realtor referred us to Moving Forward, and I wish we would’ve called them sooner. Darlene and her team were very thorough and efficient, kind and compassionate. I highly recommend them.

Smart Moves moved my husband and I twice and my mom twice. Leigh Anne was our moving specialist. She is Wonderful!!! Hardworking, efficient, compassionate, smart, and fun to be with!! All four moves went perfectly! I recommend them for anyone that is moving!! Thank you!!!

I was in a real bind, and needed to have a person moved with only 4 days notice. After explaining my predicament, Smart Moves was able to conger up movers to bail me out. Smart Moves also recommended most cost effective solution for my next move that did not involve their own company. Great work - High level of integrity.No

Senior Abuse! Kathy, the owner's henchman, did a 5-second walkthrough of my 660 square foot apartment and said that it would cost me over $7,200! This is supposed to be a service for seniors, not to gouge them.The owner complained that I wasn't one of their clients and I couldn't be - I couldn't afford them! And they did not offer me a paring-down option they were just going to pack the whole thing up and move it.Also, the owner, appealed to me FOUR TIMES not to ruin their reputation and make a bad posting and tell the truth! If she could, the owner would sue me for stating the truth!All the owner and Kathy care about is MONEY. And the owner once said to a conference, "never leave a... dollar on the table."read more

I had a very positive experience with Moving Forward! They communicated with me several times before the move took place.They were willing to customize my move based upon my needs. I partially packed & they came in to finish. The move itself went super well! Everyone is so kind, helpful, professional and efficient! I had a partial unpack by them & then I finished the rest. I will definitely call upon them again if/when the need arises. I highly recommend their services for ease, comfort & they've got you covered in all areas!! ❤️

My husband and I recently moved, but due to many complications were unable to move furniture, hang mirrors and paintings and set up the house since we moved in six months ago.I had NO idea that a company like this existed to help seniors (and I assume others) to settle into their new homes. Luckily an occupational therapist helped us find them.They were an absolute joy to work with. They were knowledgeable about design concepts (I had no ideas to make the house look better), how to properly hang artwork and paintings and to make us feel part of the process, yet not overwhelmed. All we knew was that we couldn't do it and we needed someone else to take the reins. They also worked to keep... the costs within our budget and matching the estimate we were given. I was able to do some preliminary work, after getting suggestions from Kathy, who came first. That allowed us to have them do more work than I had first hoped. They put things in the "right" places, often in a way I never thought of. But they were ALWAYS reminding us that it was our home, if we wanted something changed, just tell them. I only had to do that a couple of times, as the lines of communication were so good, we were on the same page.To have our house looking like a HOME with our furnishings displayed in an attractive and efficient manner was such a relief. We have used Moving Forward for two moves for my mom. In both cases, I cannot imagine how we would have done it without them. The most significant and unique thing they do is to help downsize. They have great collaborations to help consignment, antiques, donations, recycling and thoughtful guidance on making decisions. Without that, we would have packed up and moved tons of unneeded items. The other best part is that on moving day, by the end of the day, everything was unpacked, furniture placed, kitchen set up, and bed made!! Even most of the art was hung on walls. Mom was at "home" and ready to go meet her new neighbors. I like the ala carte pricing, which we did differently each time.... EVERYONE was thoughtful and respectful of her and her belongings. I can't say enough good about them.read more

The one word I would use to describe Moving Forward is Integrity. They were responsive, responsible, caring and above all honest. They went above and beyond our expectations and performed flawlessly without supervision. They have my highest recommendation.

We could have made our move without Moving Forward. The workers all worked fast and efficiently. There were three plusses in addition to a traditional move. When the truck was unloaded three women unpacked EVERY box and found room for everything. They even made the bed and hung the pictures. They put us in touch with a resale shop that wrote us a check for about twenty items. Even better , two movers took EVERYTHING out of our condo. Either to a resale store or the dumpster. They were worth every penny.

I am recommending Moving Forward to anyone who has to move after living in a home for a long time. They help with every detail, reducing worries, and making sure nothing is overlooked. Michelle was a delight to work with and I depended on her for good advice as well as a lot of help in getting stuff out of my house before the move. All of the packing and moving crew members were great and I thank them all.

The Moving Forward staff were amazingly quick, efficient and resourceful helping us when my sister passed away unexpectedly. Disposing of her possessions was a daunting challenge for us--but their friendly, hard-working staff helped us complete the task in record time. They were fantastic to work with--we recommend them unconditionally!

The folks at Moving Forward were incredibly helpful, efficient and truly great to work with. I was so impressed with Michelle’s professionalism, problem solving abilities, planning and suggestions to save money. She and her team had good taste as well which came in handy when setting up a pleasing environment in Mom’s new memory care room. They took the stress out this very stressful move. We did not have one problem.

We couldn’t have moved without these amazing people and all their effort and support! We owned and moved from a 4-unit building with @30 years of accumulated possessions, which included MANY “treasures” from our previous antique business. We felt overwhelmed by this daunting task and the short time frame. Moving Forward made it manageable in their organized methodical fashion.To a person, the staff were caring, supportive, and so efficient and hard-working! They helped us sell, donate, dispose of many items we no longer need.We can’t give enough praise and gratitude for Moving Forward! Marianne and the team at Moving Forward made my mom’s move from WI to MN a piece of cake. We were not able to take time off to help sort through 60 years of accumulated possessions, downsize, and sell/donate what wasn’t going to move, and pack everything for the move. Moving Forward did all this for us, in addition to coordinating with the actual movers, some specialists for certain items, and another senior move specialist on the MN end for unpacking. The entire team was friendly, cheerful, patient, and very supportive of my elderly mom throughout the process. They made what would normally be a very stressful event much more manageable.If you have to move an older relative, I highly... recommend using a senior move specialist. If you have to move someone who is in Wisconsin, call Moving Forward - they are awesome!read more

Moving Forward helped with my mother’s move at the end of April, 2022. Everything about working with Moving Forward was great! They were able to accommodate a tight timeline, and their rates are very reasonable. Every contact I made with the company via telephone or email was very pleasant. And on the day of the move, they sent two of the nicest young men to get the job done. They were efficient and polite and made quick work of packing the truck and unloading at my mother’s new apartment. I highly recommend Moving Forward for the senior in your life!

We can’t thank you enough. You asked questions and listened to all of our concerns about the move. And you did everything possible to address everyone's needs, including ours. You handled every arrangement needed to transport her belongings during the beginning of the Corvid 19 crisis.We fully expected that moving my mother-in-law from independent living to memory care would be a nightmare. Instead, you found dozens of ways to make it a positive experience. This includes figuring out how to recreate her previous apartment setting in her new memory care room. Her new room feels like small art museum, something that we knew would make her happy. Thank you from all of us.
